Culture Horn & Sammy Gold - Jah Creator

Culture Horn Sound System return with a brand-new EP entitled Jah Creator. 

For this release, the heavyweight sound system from the town of Kremenki in the Kaluga region in Russia, teams up with the mighty Sammy Gold to deliver a fresh vibe!  

Sammy Gold has been in the scene since the late 70s, when he started as a toaster and later in the 80s as a singer. Getting his influence from artists like Dennis Brown, Jacob Miller and Rod Taylor, he worked with many producers like Rus Muffet, Ras Kuntus and High Elements releasing music on Roots Injection, Cubiculo Records and many other labels.

Jah Creator is offered for free download from Bandcamp. As it usual in most of the releases of Culture Horn, the first composition is in a dubplate style and the second composition is the main track. Each track includes the obligatory dub version. The compositions were recorded back in 2016 and since then they have been played on various dances and streamed in radio broadcasts.

The EP is dedicated to Jah and his deeds. Peace and love to all. 

Negritage - Greetings From Planet Dub

Four years ago, back in 2013, the Argentinian dubbers Negritage made their first appearance on the label with Guetto Roots of Dub Vol. 1, an album recorded in “Cuca Roots” and in “El Fuerte Dub Foundation” studios, exploring the Jamaican roots and culture dub tradition. Their analogue style and their authentic sound was greatly appreciated by the listeners and the album remains until today the most downloaded release ever made by Dubophonic, with more than 25.000 downloads and still rising.

Fast forward today and the long awaited Vol. 2 is finally out. “Greetings from Planet Dub” stays true to the same roots and culture background with 6 vocal tracks and 11 dubs. Nevertheless new elements are incorporated in their style, in which eastern melodies blend into the Jamaican vibes and the melodica meets the mandolin and the lyre like in a musical playground, were the singers and players of instruments playfully communicate through their music.

Negritage - Guetto Roots Of Dub

It all started a few years ago in Argentina in the “Lavadero Records Dub Temple” when some childhood friends were sharing their passion for “di roots & kulcha music” and exploring the dub sounds and the Jamaican tradition. Past, present and future are represented in their sounds. Analogue vibes meets the new waves of dub vibrations of the 21century. After some time they moved to another place called “Cuca Roots” where they recorded some dubplates included in this album (Dub control skank, Herbsman shuffle, Roots & kulcha and Dubbing time) and now they are building a new studio called “El fuerte dub foundation”.

All members of Negritage, William, Nacho, Leo, Pato and Herno have played together since childhood and are still play together almost every weekend, continuing their musical journey, helping each other to record the instruments for the tracks.

Negritage’s gear is whatever is available, some time analogs other times digitals, mixer consoles for the overdubbers, a turntable for the vocal samples, sometimes a Kawai drum machine from the eighties.
