Elastica Dub & Sarod Mystics - Tales Of Raj

  

Produced together with the Indian trio Sarod Mystics, Tales of the Raj was born in the heart of Udaipur, Rajasthan — a land of deserts, camels, Maharajas, and timeless architecture where ancient and modern worlds intertwine. Always in search of ancestral sounds and instruments beyond the Western tradition,

Elastica Dub found new inspiration in this journey. Days spent with local musicians, wandering through markets and ancient palaces, gave life to a music that tells of real encounters, lived moments, and cross-cultural dialogues.

The album blends the deep vibrations of Dub Music with the mystical harmonies of the Sarod, an ancient Indian instrument mastered by only a few. Meeting one of these rare players became the spark for a unique sound experience — pulsing basslines, hypnotic echoes, and spiritual melodies that carry the listener through a vivid, imaginative soundscape.

Tales of the Raj is an immersive journey, a bridge between distant worlds that meet through music to tell stories of freedom, discovery, and universal connection.

Elastica Dub is back with a powerful new track — a modern anthem blending reggae and dub in an unstoppable groove driven by deep bass frequencies. The collaboration with Gabriel Blue, on vocals and guitars, brings warmth and intensity to a sound that celebrates music as a force for unity, resilience, and rebirth. Rastaveli MC / Step Machine - Better Galaxy

Artem Kostyuk aka Rastaveli Mc, is a Russian artist who is well established abroad, thanks to his conscious lyrics, manner of performance and right message.  His songs can be heard on festivals and radio stations in Europe, South America and even Africa. He collaborates with artists and producers all over the globe with equal success. 

 

Rastaveli Mc's high productivity and conscious lyrics are his main distinguishing feature from many musicians. Rastaveli MC is in constant search and creation of something new. At the moment he is the best reggae performer in Russia according to “Reggaemedia” and “Daily Vibes” the main media publishers covering reggae music in Russia

Step Machine is an apologist of reggae/dub/ska music, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Russia. He began his creative way as a music composer, arranger and drummer in several local reggae bands at the same time. Over time, he became interested in sound engineering and started to play dub on an old Soundcraft with a couple of analog effects. He now focuses on all stages of music creation, from composing to mastering. He is notable for using traditional reggae hardware and believes that they are the perfect polish for good music in this genre.

Dub Idren - Public Enemy

Colombian artist Dub Idren and Mixcave Mastering meet on this new tune entitled Public Enemy, a musical reference to a famous speech Richard Nixon gave back in June 1971 about drug use. Amidst rising public concern, Nixon delivered a pivotal speech declaring "America's public enemy number one" to be "drug abuse." This marked the beginning of the "War on Drugs."

Nixon's rhetoric was strong, calling for a "new, all-out offensive" to combat the issue. He emphasized the need for a multi-pronged approach, targeting both drug supply and demand. The speech reflected Nixon's desire to project a strong image on law and order, a key theme of his presidency. He aimed to rally public support and resources for a national campaign against drugs.

Critics argue that Nixon's speech focused more on punishment than on treatment and prevention. It disproportionately affected minority communities, leading to mass incarceration. Nixon's rhetoric and policies had lasting consequences. The "war" metaphor fueled a militaristic approach, prioritizing law enforcement over treatment and prevention, with long-lasting consequences. Additionally, the focus on stopping supply disproportionately impacted minority communities, leading to mass incarceration. While the "War on Drugs" had initial support, its effectiveness remains debated.

Today, the conversation around drugs, particularly cannabis, has shifted dramatically. Many US states have legalized marijuana for recreational or medical use, a stark contrast to Nixon's all-out war. This change reflects growing public support for legalization, citing potential benefits like tax revenue, reduced crime, and the ability to regulate and control the substance.

Munay Ki Dub - Take Your Time

Hailing from the mountains of central Argentina, Munay Ki Dub combines live instruments such as violin, melodica, percussion, bass and guitar with programming, effects and digital instruments. Their new uplifting song is entitled Take your Time. 

Munay Ki Dub are Rebecca Clements (vocals, violin, melodica, keyboard and percussion), Alejo González (programming, keyboard, bass, effects and vocals) and Roby Torcello (guitar).

The Business meets Dub Siren - Dub Down To Business

Dub Siren is a Dub-inspired electronic music composer, producer and remixer, a Cypriot from London now based in West Sussex. Home studio is a shed filled synthesizers, analogue hardware and old-school mixing desks.

The Dub Down To Business EP includes four remixes by Dub Siren on four tracks written by the London-Brazilian production trio The Business. The Business serve up irresistible dancefloor-ready electronic music drenched in analogue soul, groovin' basslines, vintage synths and recycled 70s vocals that will have you jackin’ your body and pumpin’ your fists to the high heavens.

The original tracks are included in their debut album ‘Get Down To Business’ - a heady mix of 80s-influenced groove, electro, disco and funk, all brought together by their clever knack of sampling, cutting & reshaping it all into something brand new.

On the remix EP Dub Down To Business, Dub Siren brings his Tubby-inspired trippy soundscapes to the party and transforms the band’s retro-dancefloor grooves into deep, dubby explorations of space and time.

Munay Ki Dub - Poncho Dub

Hailing up from the mountains of central Argentina, Munay Ki Dub combines live instruments such as violin, melodica, percussion, bass and guitar with programming, effects and digital instruments. The name comes from the South American Quechua language and means “I Love Dub”.

Their new single is entitled Poncho Dub, a tango for the new electronic age, jumping between classic and modern vibrations!

Munay Ki Dub are Rebecca Clements (vocals, violin, melodica, keyboard and percussion), Alejo González (programming, keyboard, bass, effects and vocals) and Roby Torcello (guitar).

 

Shaky Norman meets Clement Roots - Where Is The Love

 

The French melodica virtuoso Shaky Norman is returns with Where Is The Love, a very personal tune in an acoustic reggae style, fusing reggae with folk elements. Composed and produced by Shaky Norman himself, the tune is a collaboration with Clement “Mystic” Roots on the vocals.

Clement Roots also known as “Mystic”, was born in the early 60s in St. Lucia, West Indies. He is based in London UK and is bassist of the band Jah Time International and also performs live as a vocalist on many sound systems in the UK.

 

Stefanosis - Kali Yuga

Stefanosis, the Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist/producer, who has been crafting his musical art for over two decades, returns with a new single entitled Kali Yuga. 

 

Kali Yuga is a concept in Hinduism that says we're now in the fourth cycle/age of existence, which is the most difficult one. It is the age of darkness and despair among humanity and across the entire Earth, when chaos, confusion, and hypocrisy reigns. This is the age of conflicts and we see it every day through wars and brutality. Spiritually, the civilization degenerates, as people drift farther and farther from the Divine.

 

Kali Yuga is a stepper style reggae song with apocalyptic theme lyrics. It is presented in two versions: the original vocal composition and the obligatory dub version.

 

The unmistakable sound of Stefanosis is also in this release present, were roots reggae fuses with eastern melodies and philosophies!

 

 

Chebeen Teriya - Douhaou

Chebeen Teriya is a unique 5 piece band lead by singer/multi-instrumentalist Dramane Bakwan, who brings original music from his homeland of Burkina Faso. From a young age, Dramane participated in the sacred musical traditions of the Gourounsi people of Burkina Faso (West Africa). His insatiable appetite for music drove him to study the myriad of rhythms and melodies of ethnic groups throughout the region. A love of country and continent has inspired him to write over one hundred original songs with lyrics in five languages. His work explores social, environmental, and political themes with the aim of inspiring people to take care of one another and the planet they share.  

 

The album Douhaou is their second release on the label. Nevertheless, this album was chronologically written before the EP Ajabro, which was released last year.  It was written in 2018 and was the first time we got connected with Chebeen’s music. It is written in the Djula language (spoken in Burkina Faso, Mali and Ivory Coast) and includes nine tracks in an afro-fusion style, sung by the band’s frontman Dramane Bakwan. 

 

Dramane explains: “Douhaou means benediction or blessings and the album is about social issues. Sabary talks about forgiveness as the way forward in life. Diy is about remembering your roots and honouring your culture as well as those of others. Bimogo is about hypocrisy in politics. Pogo-nere is a love song and Africa is for the whole continent, to unify behind our causes.”

Eter Dub - Eternally Wise

Eter Dub was founded by the dub master Federico Balza, in Mendoza (Argentina), a graduated musician from the Universidad Nacionalde de Cuyo with studies on classical flute and member of the OrquestRa Sinfonica Juvenil (1st flute) in Argentina. As saxophonist (tenor/alt), flutist and keyboard player he collaborated with many reggae, dub and hip-hop bands like Zona Ganjah, Downbeat and Negritage touring around the independent scene of Latin America.

After releasing his first album back in 2016, entitled In Da Name Of Jah and is collaboration with Negritage on Greetings From Planet Dub, Eter Dub returns five years later with his brand new EP.

Eternally Wise offers a new fresh breeze in dub music. Just like his previous album, his sound is referencing to his background in classical music, with flute being the main instrument in his new ep.

Being accompanied by some great musicians on the oboe, guitar and drums, Eter Dub delivers four tracks of extended length, the longest being Chilling All Day Dub with over 10 minutes of length. Magical melodies and uplifting vibes, originality and an alternative approach to dub music – This is the sound of Eter Dub!

Stefanosis - Eastward Journey Dubs

Stefanosis, the Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist and producer, who has been crafting his musical art for over two decades, returns with his new release entitled Eastward Journey Dubs.

The EP consists of four underground reggae/dubwise dubplates, all inspired by the artist’s journey to the far east. 

 

The unmistakable sound of Stefanosis, which was present in his two previous releases, is also in this release to be heard, where roots reggae fuses with eastern melodies!

DubRaJah - Repatriation

DubRaJah has a unique way of blending the cultural elements from the countries he has been to, into his music. Being an anthropologist and ethnomusicologist, he has made many ethnographical expeditions in different parts of Africa, Asia and Europe, produced several films about indigenous peoples and studied their native music.

His journey on our label started in 2014 with the EP Enkang, introducing a style that fuses dub with ethnic elements, samples and recordings made through his various journeys. In 2017 came the LP Reprise and 2019 the EP Nilotic. 

 

This is his fourth release, his second album entitled Repatriation, which is a collection of music recorded between 2016 and 2020 in Arusha (Tanzania), Sauraha (Nepal) and Moscow (Russia). Strictly outernational ethnic dubwise sounds. Our favourite track: Sajenio!

DubRaJah - Nilotic

Dubrajah, one of the most prolific Dubophonic artists, is back with his new release.  The ethnomusicologist from Russia continues to follow the path he started in year 2014, demonstrating with each release his ability to fuse a deep digital dub style with organic sounds, traditional African melodies and chants. After Enkang (2014) and Reprise (2017), the Russian artist Sergey Gabbasov returns with his new EP entitled Nilotic.

Nilotic is a group of people indigenous to the Nile valley. Dubrajah’s new music is a journey inspired by the cultures of East Africa and specifically by the Nilotic people. All compositions include samples of traditional music and singing of Twa, Karamojong, Maasai & Swahili people.

The first track Mji Mkongwe (which means "old town" in Swahili language) is inspired by an old part of the Zanzibar city, which is also known as "Stone Town". This town from the time of its foundation has been the melting pot of people and cross-point of cultures of Indian ocean - from Madagascar to Iran, from Congo to Indonesia.

Karamoja, the second track, applies to a region in the North of Uganda. its main inhabitants are Nilotic people, Karamojong and Ik, who are semi-nomadic pastoralists.

The last track refers to Bwindi, a large primeval forest in southwestern of Uganda (means "impenetrable" in Runyakitara language), which includes the half of the world's population of mountain gorillas. Previously it was inhabited by Twa pygmies - hunter-gatherers, first indigenous people, who have been resettled by the government outside of the forest, because of creation of the National Park.

Downbeat - Introspección

Downbeat is a project that mutates, changes with the time, transforms itself with life, without limits and without borders. Their second album takes the sound a step further towards experimentation. Downbeat look at their interior and connect themselves with genres they always got inspired from: Dub, Dubtronica, Jazz and Fusion.

"Introspección" is the beating of their heart, each heartbeat navigated by a different state of mind. Looking at oneself is like a magical journey within, guided by the mystical power of the ancestral plants.

The dub sounds are present throughout the album with atmospheric musical landscapes. This is not the typical dub album, trying to look like its coming out from an island ... this is the dub of the mountain ... the dub of the Andes ... the dub of the Aconcagua ... the dub of Las Heras. That's why it's hard, dark, cold and different. That is why it has power, hypnotism, strength and a sound of its own.

Let us navigate within ourselves, with the heart pulsating on each beat. Heavy Dub, experimental Dub, dedicated to the universe and its infinite power. A triangle for all to travel (SOUND-LIGHT-SHAPE)!
